This little canoe looks worn, and old. But it is floating. Just like we are, floating above the water. We are not sinking.
Dad is doing OK. He was up in the chair yesterday and was drinking plenty of fluid as well as eating multiple popsicles. He LOVES the pedialyte ice pops.
He is still currently in the step down ICU, but will be transferred to Smilow today or tomorrow. He is in stable condition and does not need the step down level of care. His blood pressure is stable, and vital signs are good. His lab results are stable. He has not required any blood or platelet transfusions. His kidney function is improving. Liver is still functioning as well as it can! He had an echocardiogram of his heart and results are not concerning. He does have bacteria growing in his blood, so he will need to continue on IV antibiotics for 4-6 weeks. He might be admitted to Smilow for 7 days before he can come home.
His spirits were good yesterday. He was laughing and making jokes with the nurses. He of course was giving them a hard time, in the kindest way possible! He has his personality back!
